Way back in 1993 there was an amusing Stallone film called "Demolition Man," with Wesley Snipes as a sociopath.
The relevant part of the movie was the setting--a new age PC society with no swearing, no dissent, no salt allowed in restaurants. It was ridiculous.
We watched it again this year, with the kids. I hadn't seen it in 15 years.
Wow. Talk about creepy, how prescient some of it was. There really are politicians pushing that crap now.
Of course, I had the same in Freehold, which I wrote in 1999-2000 and was sold in 2004. The frothing left insulted me all over the web for being so anti-them, and caricaturing them as so shallow and stupid.
